*smiles sheepishly* Hey guys. It's uh..it's been a while! Nearly seven months, in fact. I am so sorry! And I'm even more sorry that this isn't a real update. I have nothing to update with. It's more of a "I'm alive, I'm here" update. School has quite literally eaten all of my time - since January I have literally spent every waking minute doing homework. It has been awful. But I'm finally catching up. So, this is why I'm doing this update. And also because I've been thinking about websites lately. I need to make one for school. Why I can't just present him with this one I have no idea...but there you go. I am trying to come up with a good name for a "professional" website that isn't my name. I hate it when people name things after themselves. It's so arrogant. So I will not be having a jodibutler.com. No way. I need something else. But what, I have no idea. I love Sith Happens. But it's not "professional" and the name is kind of infringing on copy right laws...so I really should change it. *sigh* Oh, copy right, how you suck. But anyway. I am alive, school is eating me, but I am alive. I only have about a month left of school, so I hope I will be more active after that. I've been thinking about getting my own domain actually. I'd keep this website for my fanarts, because that couldn't go on a professional portfolio. And this would always be where I came to escape, but I think my own domain would be a good thing, to host my writing - again, original stuff - and my non-fanart designs.
On that note, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can call said domain? I've been going through lyrics this morning and have some ideas. Like...
AAaand that's about as much as I have that could be suitable. I want something that reflects me, but that still is professional. So I'm having a lot of issues. I would like to tie in Harry Potter with it somehow without making Warner Brothers angry. Something about the stars/space would be good too. Or film. Actually I would really like something that ties my graphic design, writing and film together. How I will do that, I have no idea.
Oh! I realized that I do have a little thing to update with. Kelly has gotten her own domain! Go and check out her gorgeous gorgeous art!
Unfortunately, that's it for me. I have been working on some fanfics that I don't think I have up here, so hopefully I'll get time to edit them and change them into code once school is done. And once I have my professional website up somewhere I will let you know! In the mean time, check me out on Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal, Tumblr, YouTube (my collaboration channel) and Dailybooth. Think I have enough social networking sites?
Until next time, keep twiddling those dials! The next password will be: freedom! Keep each other safe, keep faith...Good night! (er...morning...)
Wow, where has the summer gone? I'm moving in three days! I can't believe it. But I can't wait to get out of this house and away from these people. Ugh. I keep wawnting to vent on here, blog-ify this baby, but I know I shouldn't. (That's what my blog is for, after all) I probably should just walk away until I'm in a better mood, but I want to get this finished. So. Here I am, updating.
How about a happy topic? Harry Potter! I went and saw it three times. The first time I absolutely hated it. I picked it right to pieces. I mean, I liked it while in the theatre but as soon as I stepped out with my puffy red eyes, sniffling from sobbing for the better last half hour of the film, I started criticising it. The second time I enjoyed it so much more (but still couldn't help but cry). And then I went and saw it in Imax 3D with a bunch of my friends. THAT was amazing. Only the first 15 minutes or so were in 3D, but holy crap. It was so amazing. I flinched more than once. And then after that it was just so amazing cus, really, twelve-foot tall Draco? Hello!
That successfully put me in a good mood. :)
The only art that I've done beside battles have been icons. I haven't made icons for so long that I was really extremely rusty, so they're not trendy or anything. But I like them. I added a new section under The Qudditch Pitch for that - they're under Take-ables along with the Desktop Wallpapers. I've got some Half-Blood Prince, Philosopher's Stone and some Wizard-Rock inspired ones. Hope you enjoy! :)
I have added the link to a new fanfic. I have decided to not post them on here, but rather Fanfic.net and FictionAlley (though, I have yet to do that) and possibly a few others, like the Leaky Lounge and maybe MuggleNet fanfiction. I will keep those that are already up, up, but from now on they will be linked to external websites.

I forgot to mention - I'm volunteering at the Harry Potter Alliance! I'm so excited! I'm going to be doing some graphic design and such for them. Which means I will have less time to do art for myself, especially with school starting again, and even less time to update. Sooooo I may be absent for quite a long while. Until next time, witches, wizard and muggles, keeping twiddling those dials! (The next password is "Dumbledore's Army")
Yikes. Nearly three months since I've updated. My sincerist appologies. I will admit that I haven't done much in the art department, though I have done a lot with writing - but nothing that's ready to post yet, I'm afraid. I will also admit that I have put off updating for as long as possible because my trial of dreamweaver expired and I have no other way to update on my Mac. So I am now using my parents PC (because I let my brother borrow my laptop, and he's an hour and a half away. Ay yi yi.) So, here we are. Three months later. I hope I have fixed all of the broken links and missing pages, but I haven't please let me know via the tagboard.
(Oh, and guess what? HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCES COMES OUT IN LIKE...11 DAYS! OMG. SQUEEE!) Ahem. Now that I've gotten that out of my system...
So I do have a new piece of art, but I was silly and forgot to make a thumbnail while I was on my iMac. So there may be a little bit of time where there is no thumbnail for it. It is called The Fifth of November and yes, it is V for Vendetta fan art. Love! I just absolutely love that movie. Before I bought it I heard from a lot of people that it was crap, but I do believe it is one of my favourite films. I'm so glad I bought it.
Credits for "The Fifth of November" go to DJ Capslock and Google for the caps and stock, the textures are by Monstreum and Looks Like Rain and patterns are from Headlock.ws and 3to1.
|Battles
I have added two new rounds for my and Mel's battle! Both are Moulin Rouge and I do believe we are going back to Harry Potter for the next rounds. (Yay!)
|Writing
I actually did think of something that I have written since my last update, but it isn't coded so I will have to do that some other time. (If you really want to read it, visit my Facebook, or my LiveJournal, I will be posting it on both. Maybe my DeviantART as well.) It's Narcissa's POV during the forest scene in Deathly Hallows. After the whole craziness at the train station. Because Narcissa wasn't there for that. Right.
|Goodbyes
This is it for me for this time around! (Oh, FYI, I increased the character count on the cbox - yay!) Keep twiddling those dials! (The next password is "Half-Blood Prince" :DDDD)
Holla! My appologies for making you all wait so long for an update. I really just had no desire what-so-ever to do art, well no, that's not true. I did two pieces. Two. In four months! O_o That's quite terrible, wouldn't you agree? But I do come with a new layout - my best yet! I am in love with it. How could I not be? It's all Harry Potter like with lyrics from my favourite wizard rock band (for those of you who aren't geeks like me, that's music based on Harry Potter) - Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls! Christian is absolutely amazing and his music is fantastic and I highly recommend him. (looks back on that sentence) Wow that sounded very fangirly, didn't it? LOL.
As I mentioned, and you can no doubt see, new layout! It is my first ever Harry Potter layout here at HeadLock and it is my best (and favourite) yet, if I do say so myself. As I already mentioned, the lyrics are by Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, from the songs "The Hallows" and "Open at the Close". I hope I did it justice, I think I did. (There is a fantastic fan video here that fits the song perfectly. But if you're emotional when it comes to these things like me, you might want to be in the room by yourself.)
Oh, and by the way, in case you couldn't find it, the navigation is underneath the words "point me to...". "Hogwarts" is to get back to this page, "The Quidditch Pitch" sends you over to my art, "The Quibbler" will allow you to read my writing, "The Ministry of Magic" gives you information about both myself and Sith Happens, "The Floo Network" shoots you over to the links section so that you can visit my talent affiliates and the people I've used resources from, and at "The Owlery" you can send me an Owl, or...if you're a Muggle, just leave me a comment on the tag board. -_^
As I mentioned, I have made two new pieces. The first...well I don't really know where it came from, to be honest. I was just browsing my LiveJournal and found the photo's used at FotoDecadent and was just started fooling around and actually made something decent! :P No, actually, I really love it. I love the colors and the photo's and I'm just really happy with it. The second piece was actually the inspiration for this layout. Or maybe it was the other way around? I'm not entirely sure. But anyways, it was inspired by OBatR and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and really just my want to make something Potter-related.
Credits for "Material Girl" go to Looks Like Rain and Crazy Kira for the textures the lyrics are from "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" from Moulin Rouge! and as I mentioned earlier, the photo's are from Foto Decadent. Credits for "Hallows or Horcruxes?" goes to The Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet for the photos, and Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls for the lyrics. (I wonder how many times I'll say that in this update? :P)
I've started up a new battle with Angiee over at Barely Wonderful! It's Twilight themed, and I've added the first three rounds. :)
I've been thinking a lot about fanfics, but I've only got one fic to show for it. I'm hoping there will be more coming along soon, but no promises. I've also got two poems, written at WordsWorth in Febuary during David's meditation session. I love doing that - it's possibly one of my favourite things in the world. Just singing and letting yourself go. *sigh* It's amazing. I'm not going to give any other hints than that for what they're about, because that's the beauty of poetry. Sooo, I'll start in on the fan fic. It's Harry Potter, of course, and features Narcissa/Lucius in their younger days, just after their marriage. There may be a sequal or prequel coming from it, but I'm not sure yet. I may save that for the new fic I'm writing, which is going to be loooong.
